	Geoff Smith Associates Limited launched CycFreedom² at the ACPO/APOS Conference in Southampton on 8 and 9 June 2009.
CycFreedom²	GSA along with our partners Fujitsu Europe were sponsors of the event and had a stand in the Mayflower Lounge of the annual ACPO/ACPOS Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Records Management Conference. CycFreedom² is our Information and Contact management solution that is growing and growing. In recent years GSA have made many changes to the product led in part by our User Group but so pleased we are with these changes that we have included the number two in its name!! CycFreedom² still includes all the excellent features that made it so popular with document management underpinning the application. Here follows a quick introduction to the new features to highlight what is now available. The features include:
Configurable Request Types	1. The entire application is now force configurable to support any Request Types you require, you choose the Request Types you want. It allows you to define what fields to display, what fields not to display, what is mandatory, what tabs to display, you can also establish your own traffic lights, the checklists and dropdowns are now entirely force configurable. Independent timelines may be set for each, with rules definable by you.
More Flexible Request Types	2. In making the product more flexible, GSA have introduced new “out of the box” Request Types. One force asked us to consider expanding the solution to include what it called “Feedback (Direction and Control)”. It provides a means for forces to record all complaints and compliments received. The solution allows the tracking of the actions arising from this and finally to produce the necessary home office reports on the types and numbers of items received. This solution will allow the force to more easily monitor and track the issues arising within each locality and to allow the force to establish any necessary action plans to improve performance.
Vetting Management	3. GSA has also introduced a Vetting management capability within CycFreedom² to allow requests for vetting to be managed throughout the entire lifecycle including checks required, and actions taken. It includes management and review capabilities to ensure reviews are undertaken when necessary and in a timely fashion.
New Redaction Handling	4. CycFreedom² solution includes new features for handling redactions and exemptions. When an exemption stamp is applied to a document the system now records automatically the type of exemption used and allows this to subsequently be reported on for statistical purposes. Exemptions used for a request can now more easily be viewed and the documents on which they have been used automatically navigated to.
Microsoft Office Integrations	5. Our integrations with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel have been significantly enhanced and the ability to single click Save and Check-In a document within the viewer makes modifying a document much simpler.
WorkFlow Tasking	6. The Workflow and Tasking features have been strengthened so that a Request always has an owner, automated tasks are now generated to ensure the prompt supervision and management of all requests.
Nominals Enhancements	7. The nominals area of the solution has been greatly enhanced to allow multiple persons to more easily be created and searched, nominal checklists and diversity monitoring has been introduced. Documents may now be linked to individuals within the record. The nominals can now independently searched, updated, merged and linked. The linking of requests is now automated and the navigation between them available at the click of a button.
Contact Management credentials	8. With the above in mind you may wish to consider other areas of the business that CycFreedom² may be of value in. Its Contact Management and Information Management credentials just got much much stronger. A few more licences may make all the difference to another area of the business allowing them to make real efficiencies.
Integrations	9. In addition to the flexible range of Integrations and Interfaces that Cyclops already offer, Integration to PNC will shortly be available.
