CYCLOPS Business Solutions interface to a growing range of mobile data capture options. Mobile Interface equipment such as PDA, BlackBerrys, Digital Pens, tablets and laptops enable completion of custom-designed eForms. Most importantly they offer flexible, mobile and light ways of data capture for forms such as Stop/Search, HO/RT1 and Crime Forms. An example of how this works with a Stop Form is: an Officer on his day to day duties can complete the form electronically with very little typing. eForms are designed with easy to use look ups, check boxes, radio button and drop down lists to enable form completion. On returning to the station, the Officer can synchronise the data held on the PDA and the data can immediately enter the next process of validation and correction.

BlackBerry ® technology can be used to electronically submit CYCLOPS E-forms even when not working in the office. A BlackBerry ® brings together SMART Phones and software to provide access to email, phone, calendar, Applications and more while on the move.
In terms of CYCLOPS, this mobile technology is very similar to PDA Technology, in that captured data is submitted into the database in xml data format. This offers savings in terms of time and data integrity. As BlackBerrys ® use a PUSH/ PULL technology where messages are automatically pushed to your device so you can receive emails effortlessly. GSA use this techology to forward WorkFlow messages in an EForm format for correction of errors or omissions back to the originating Officer. |

Digital Pen technology offers a high mobile usability factor. As you write with your digital pen, each stroke is stored into the pen's memory. To view and use this information, it must be downloaded to a computer. Downloading takes place when the digital pen is placed in its docking station or by blue tooth technology. The information downloaded from the pen is saved to your computer as a .pen document. GSA incorporate this Digital Pen technology into a variety of Data Capture and Forms Processing solutions as part of an overall system.
