System Summary:

CycEconoCrime is a Software Tool from Geoff Smith Associates for Economic Crime Departments providing Case and Investigation management facilities for Serious Crime, Fraud, Financial Investigation, Cheque & Card, Money Laundering, Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) and Crime Desk enquiries.

System Details:

This software solution enables the management of economic and specialist crime cases. It allows the recording and management of Case Information and material and the allocation and tracking of the Investigation in terms of Case Status, management of all internal checking processes, related activities and progress, Policy definition and Policy Updates and progress updates. The system allows the recording and capture of all exhibits and material and provides all the tools to produce a full set of case related documentation for disclosure including the Manual of Guidance forms. A full PD0008 evidential admissibility compliant Document Management System is integrated within the system and enables the capture and storage of associated documentation such as crime reports, bank statements invoices, cheques, and other evidential documents, scanned or faxed images, photos, all office documents together with full audit trails.

Case Management
The System offers a complete Case Management system for your Economic Crime team. A basic system is provided which is then configured to suit the Force’s requirements. For Managers, the system offers Asset Tracking and management of Financial Statistics and internal checking processes. Additional check fields generate statistical return data. For Investigators and Supervisory Officers, the system collates Case Progress, Case Policy, Witnesses and links all Nominals, Address, Financials, Used/Unused Material, Exhibits and Statements connected with the Case. A Log Tab provides a central screen for all Case related Notes, Communications, Events, Tasks, System Tasks and Audit details.

Document Management
The system is provided with integrated Cyclops Electronic Document Management enabling the storage of all Case associated documents, files and emails which are accessible from the Record. All electronic File formats can be saved in Cyclops including Scanned Images and Pictures, Microsoft Office Documents such as Word, Emails, all Email Attachments, CAD Drawings, or Text files. An extensive range of facilities offer Document Image handling, printing, collating, copying, emailing, export options and Redaction features. The system includes a complete export facility for documents and Meta Data, capable of creating electronic case files and a composite tif or pdf image file for permanent redaction or sanitising of information.

Exhibits and Material Handling
A key feature of the solution is material handling and recording for Exhibit and Disclosure data, selection and item ranking facilities and the identification of Used (Exhibits and Statements), Unused and material which is yet to be Reviewed. Standard system facilities include the linking of documents to Nominals/Witnesses, identification of Sensitivity, Public Interest Immunity (PII), Code 7.3 and Legal Privilege file isolation where relevant.

Bank Statement Analysis
Using the best of breed OCR engine, the integrated Dynamic Statement Analyser automatically extracts transaction data from scanned bank statements. Our statement analyser uses pre-defined Templates that will recognise the data with no human intervention. All transactions are retained in the system where they can be searched for, transactions can be consolidated into a single schedule for the whole account or case and finally exported into standard formats such as an Excel spreadsheet.

Search Facilities

The system is provided with comprehensive Search Facilities that provide the ability to find Records or Documents quickly and effectively including Record and Document Meta Data and Free Text searching, configurable and complex Query searches, generation of management reporting and performance statistics. All search results can be filtered, exported, printed, emailed, and document-filter searched as required. A range of template documents for standard reports such as HMRC, MG Series Forms and Production Orders which are available for automatic and semi automated generation with mail merge facilities. All template documents can be edited, printed and emailed as required with full version control to record all changes. Template documents coupled with the other facilities of this system can contribute to achieving the security and efficiency benefits of a paperless office. For disclosure purposes, the system includes a comprehensive range of Redaction, Marking and Sanitisation options which can be saved permanently or temporarily. A range of redaction options provide full disclosure facilities.
