Cookie Policy
This website sets cookies only if you agree. With your consent it loads HubSpot, the customer relationship system GSA uses, which sets analytics cookies that show us how the site is used and which visits lead to enquiries. If you reject them, or make no choice, HubSpot is not loaded and no cookies are set. The Comms training pages also carry videos from YouTube, and a video loads only when you press play on it (see Videos on the training pages, below). This page lists what can be kept in your browser and why, and how to change your mind. It is written to meet the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR, which cover cookies and similar technologies alike.
Your choice
The notice at the foot of the page asks whether we may use analytics cookies. Accept loads HubSpot; Reject keeps it off, and the site works the same either way. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the foot of every page, or here: . If you withdraw consent, the site deletes the HubSpot cookies it can reach in your browser and stops loading HubSpot.
Cookies set by HubSpot, only if you accept
| Cookie | What it is for | When it is set | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| __hstc | HubSpot’s main analytics cookie. It holds the site, a visitor identifier and the times of your first, previous and current visits. | Only after you accept | Six months |
| hubspotutk | Keeps track of a visitor’s identity, so that an enquiry you send can be linked to your earlier visits. | Only after you accept | Six months |
| __hssc | Keeps track of the current visit, so that visits can be counted. | Only after you accept | 30 minutes |
| __hssrc | Tells HubSpot whether you have restarted your browser. | Only after you accept | Until you close the browser |
HubSpot may also hold tracking events briefly in your browser’s own storage (__hmpl and hublytics_events_53) until they are sent. Its scripts come from a content delivery network whose provider can set short-lived cookies of its own on HubSpot’s domains, such as __cf_bm (30 minutes), for bot protection and rate limiting. GSA’s HubSpot account is hosted in HubSpot’s European data centre. HubSpot is not used for advertising on this site.
What the site keeps in your browser
| Setting | What it is for | When it is written | Kept until |
|---|---|---|---|
| gsa-consent | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so the notice does not ask again on every page. Local storage. | When you press Accept or Reject | You change it or clear it |
| gsa-motion | Remembers whether you chose Pause motion or Play motion, so the site stays as you left it. Local storage. | Only when you press that control in the footer | You clear it |
Neither contains personal data, and neither is sent to GSA or to anyone else. They are values your own browser holds for this site; keeping your choice is what lets the site respect it.
What the site does not do
- Nothing from HubSpot, or from any other company, is loaded until you accept, with one exception that is yours to choose: a training video, which loads from YouTube when you press play. Otherwise the fonts, images, logos and scripts all come from this website, so no other company sees your visit or your IP address.
- No advertising cookies, no tracking pixels and no social media embeds. The training videos are the only embedded content, and each loads only when it is played.
Videos on the training pages
The Comms training pages include videos that GSA publishes on YouTube. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play on one. When you do, that video’s player loads from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced service, youtube-nocookie.com, and YouTube may then set cookies or keep similar data in your browser under its own privacy policy. A video you do not play loads nothing, and no other page on the site carries one.
The contact form
The form posts to this website and sends one email to sales@gsaltd.com. The website writes nothing you enter to a database, a file or any other store, and the address it sends to is fixed in the code, so the form cannot be used to send mail anywhere else. If you have accepted analytics cookies, HubSpot may also record what you submit in GSA’s HubSpot account, linked to your visits, so that the sales team can follow up your enquiry.
To stop the form being abused, the site briefly holds the IP address it received the request from, together with the times of recent submissions from it, and refuses more than five in ten minutes. That record is held in memory only, is never written to disk and is discarded within ten minutes. Our hosting provider also keeps its own standard server logs, as any web host does.
How to change your mind or clear everything
Use Cookie settings at the foot of any page to accept or reject. To clear everything, clear site data for gsaltd.com in your browser’s settings, or visit in a private window: the notice will then ask again, and your motion preference returns to normal.
GSA’s own products
The software GSA supplies to customers under contract does use cookies, solely for session management and authentication. Those systems are covered by each customer’s own arrangements and are nothing to do with this website.
